My writing journey has been an extraordinary one. Beginning at the young age of 9 or 10, I was really ahead of my time. When I was in grade school, our teacher gave us creative story writing assignments that we had to read in front of entire class. While the other students wrote a few lines or maybe a paragraph, I would go all out unintentionally. My stories were usually two sheets of lined paper , front and back . Then what made my tales stand out even more was how I incorporated classmates and even the teacher in some of my narratives. It's not that I was trying to be a teacher's pet, I just accidentally discovered that I loved to write and create. Then to top it off, the other students and teacher were also delighted when I was up to bat. It wasn't until something I never expected to transpire occurred. Being a young black kid raised in an all black, somewhat rough neighborhood and growing up with troublesome friends peers, they actually turned on me because of my stories. Not because I wrote stories, but because I never put them in any of the scripts. Then grade school I attended was mixed so I always put the while or other raced kids in my sagas. That was until a group of my friends pushed up on me and complained. It seems they had a problem with me not including them. I told them I didn't think they would want to be in them because I assumed they felt my stories were corny. To my surprise they thought my writings were fresh aa we said about things we like a lot around that time. That acknowledgement and their enjoyment put me on another plateau mentally.

From there, over the years, I had excelled in my writing abilities. I went from the stories I composed in grade school to much longer short stories, novels, poetry, music lyrics, religious material, legal documents, movie and television scripts and even custom writings on demand. I loved it and I was good at it.

So through all the hurdles and procrastination, im finally putting forth my God - given talent and sharing it with anyone who may be interested. Therefore, as we take this journey together , I hope you enjoy, learn, and get something beneficial out of what I create. Until next time, stay tuned for A Mr. Woods Literary Creation. Thank you for your time.
